Sites

Three addresses, all static. Status is measured from this browser, not from a server that watches them all day, so what you see is what your own connection gets.

What a check does

It asks the address, not us. The request goes from your browser to the site and the time it takes is measured with the same clock as everything else on this page.
"Answers" is a weaker claim than "works". The request is sent without permission to read the reply, so the status code is hidden. A 404 or a 500 page still counts as answering. Only a refused connection or a timeout reads as no answer.
The history is yours alone. Each result is kept in this browser's local storage, forty checks per site, and never sent anywhere. Clearing site data clears it.
Nothing is polled. The checks happen when you open this page and when you press the button, so the totals below reflect your own visits rather than a running tally from somewhere else.

About the source

The site list is written by hand, because what makes an address worth opening is not something an API can report. None of these three is built from a public repository, so there is no source link here to follow. The repositories that are public are on the repository page, and they are the other half of this account rather than the source of the pages above.
